Discovering myself – Christina Alex

It was a long lost vision, a dream,
That flew away along with the stream.
It seemed like the thing I’ve always wanted,
The path to which still seemed so haunted.
I was living a life that wasn’t mine,
Hiding my true self in order to shine
I experienced a feeling I never before had,
A feeling that seemed to guide me through good and bad.
I felt like a kite without a string,
A bird that flew without its wings.
My life seemed perfect, I knew no sorrow,
Never valued today, always waited for tomorrow.
But now I’ve realized that life’s no fairy tale,
I’ve seen situations that have made me pale.
I thought that I would never make it through,
I was walking on the lines that someone else drew.
Finally I have regained my sense,
And the past is now merely a tense.
I never thought I would make my way back,
But I did it by discovering what I lack..
I have lost a lot, but that’s just fine,
As I’m finally living a life that’s truly mine.

  1. Positive contemplation is very essential.. especially when you are analyzing your own self.
Written beautifully with the very poetic feel to the words 🙂
